ABOUT MARK SWAN

Serving My Community

Mark Swan with his wife, Christine, and son, Xander, volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity site in Knightdale.

MY ROOTS IN KNIGHTDALE

Knightdale is a great place to live and raise a family. My family moved to the area when I was a child. I went to Lockhart Elementary, East Wake Middle, and graduated from East Wake High School. I grew up feeling safe and at ease here. In this community that took care of me, I learned to be a good citizen and to take care of my community. I went to UNC-Wilmington for college, but when it was time to raise a family, I moved back to Knightdale. I want to help make Knightdale the best it can be for all families, of all sizes and ages.

MY COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE

Serving my community has always been important to me. After six years serving as a member of the Land Use Review Board (LURB), where I was honored to serve two consecutive terms as chairman, I went on to be elected to my first term on the Knightdale Town Council in 2013, and again in 2017 and 2021.

Knightdale Town Council Member since 2013
Northside Community Church Treasurer since 2018
Former East Wake Education Foundation President
Former Land Use Review Board (LURB) Member and Chair
